Agathiyar Dharma Arakattalai

A non-profit organization near Auroville in Puducherry dedicated to dharmic activities since 2021

About Us

Agathiyar Dharma Arakattalai is a non- profit organization based near Auroville in Pondicherry, actively involved in the service to the society in several ways.

With the abundant blessings and guidance of our Guru and the Sithars, a temple has been built and consecrated in 2023 for Sage Agasthiya Maharishi.

We have a full-fledged kitchen in-house. Annadhanam is an ongoing activity in the Trust. We offer food every single day to the needy. Leprosy patients, cancer patients (mostly children) and senior citizens are the beneficiaries. We also offer food to over 108 Sadhus and Sanyasis at Tiruvannamalai every month.

The oranization has been actively doing a lot of dharmic activities like organizing free eye camps for sadhus at Tiruvannamalai, providing wheelchairs for physically challenged persons, medical assistance to the needy, educational assistance to deserving students, and all possible help to physically and mentally challenged children.

We run a ghosala where we take care of weak and sick cows. Many of these cows have been rescued from slaughter houses.

Our Founder

Smt. Sumathi Agambaranathan - Founder of Agathiyar Dharma Arakattalai

Smt. Sumathi Agambaranathan

Smt. Sumathi Agambaranathan is the sishya of our Guru Amma Sri Parimaladevi. After our Guru left Her mortal body in 2020, Sumathi Agambaranathan has been striving to take Amma's vision forward to serve humanity in all possible ways. Many of our Guru Amma's committed devotees who live in India and overseas now work along with us to fulfill Amma's mission.

Our Temple

Located in a serene atmosphere, Sree Agathiyar Shiva Sakthi Ghana Peedam is a beautiful temple dedicated to Sri Agathiyar Maharishi and His consort Sri Lobamudra amma. We have a shrine for our Guru Amma too.

Goddess Bhagavathi is a dominant energy in the temple in the form of a Mahameru in panchalogam.

Lord Muruga (Subramanya) sits majestically in the form of a Vel.

Sri Mahakali protects all of us in the form of a Trichul.

Valanchuzhi Vinayagar (Ganapathy) and Sri Manasa Devi (Naga Devatha) are also powerful energy centres in the Temple.

Nithya Annadhanam

We supply one meal a day, every day to a rehabilitation centre dedicated to leprosy patients through our in-house kitchen called Sri Parimaladevi Annakoodam.

We also periodically give food, milk and curd to a rehabilitation home for children affected by cancer, home for senior citizens, centre dedicated to mentally challenged children etc.

During summer, we distribute buttermilk and sugarcane juice at several prominent temples across the state.

As taught to us in our dharma, everyday we feed stray dogs and cats too. Birds, squirrels and even peacocks which flock to our temple everyday are well fed.

Maheshwara Pooja and Annadhanam to Sadhus

Tiruvannamalai in Tamilnadu is known for its magnificent Shiva temple. This is one of the five pancha-bootha shetrams representing fire. While full-moon days are considered auspicious for Girivalam (circumambulation around the sacred mountain), these days you will find devotees on Girivalam all around the year.

This sacred mountain and shethram is also home to thousands of sadhus and sanyasis. We at Agathiyar Dharma Arakattalai have been serving the sadhus and sanyasis every single month. The ritual involves padha pooja (washing their feet), vasthram dhanam (offering saffron coloured clothing) and offering of an elaborate meal on a big banana leaf. The Sadhus and Sanyasis are worshipped as an embodiment of Maheshwara Himself!

Goshala

Our Ghosala named after our Guru Amma - Sri Parimaladevi Pasu Kaapagam is home to over 10 cows and calves. Many of them came to us in a very pitiable condition. But with proper treatment, love and care, they are now all very healthy.

Yantra

Yantras in various forms and dimensions have been used since ancient times to invoke and hold the divine cosmic energy from the universe. The specific symbols and geometrical patterns on the copper plate alone don't really serve the purpose. The divine energy must be invoked on the yantra through the appropriate mantras a certain number of times. Only then they will begin to radiate the cosmic energy and the worshippers will stand to benefit. This is similar to a temple consecration.

We are fortunate and truly blessed to have got an upadesam directly from Sage Agathiyar Maharishi on preparing a yantra. The reverend Sage has taught us the complete process of writing, cleansing and energising a yantra on a copper plate. He has also given us the mantra to be used to energise them.

The given mantra is chanted on the yantras more than one lakh times over 48 days. Throughout this duration, the yantras are kept inside our Temple and worshipped with fragrant flowers, incense and appropriate neivediyam.

Once the energizing ritual is complete, the yantras are framed and given to devotees.

Worshipping this yantra at your home brings accomplishment of wishes, profound success in your ventures, peace of mind, good fortune, abundance and prosperity.

Other Dharmic Activities
